Whether you are on the pitch, the court, or the field, speed rules. Making an athlete faster is teaching an athlete’s nervous system to fire at rates faster than it ever has before, while maintaining good posture, shapes, patterns, and rhythm. Not to mention doing these things in a straight line, curvilinear path or multi-directional path. Speed is more complex than we like to think. This is where our Impulse Speed Program comes in.
Posture, shapes, patterns
Being able to maintain technique repeatedly
Early phase of speed/change of direction
Running at max speed while maintain technique
Utilizing all of the previous within a game-like situation
Each of these phases cultivate in the athlete the different components of speed that are necessary to excel (pun intended) in whatever sport you are playing and whatever demand is on the body. This program works best when it is paired with our High Performance Program because an athlete’s deficiencies in a phase may be a strength deficiency that needs to be addressed simultaneously with a corresponding phase.
The nervous system will not take the body where it does not feel safe; it definitely won’t take it there fast.
